I have been made all kinds of offers for this laser but I am not going to be selling it. I have also been asked to make others to sell, I trained as a design engineer, I design, I prototype, I pass it on to others to manufacture.
I always give the information for building my projects freely to anyone to try out.

I wont ask you to make and sell me one, in fact i'd rather make it myself, but i do have questions if you don't mind. I am having trouble getting the flint tube out, the glue won't melt from the solder There is an entire page on setting up the driver with things that are not on the list. Did you put that together and then put the whole thing in the lighter, or is that just another way to make it better?

You may have to drill the tube out. Both of the ones I have modified (another project on its way;)) the soldering iron has done the trick....On the second one I grabbed the bottom end of the flint tube with a pair of long nosed pliers and wiggled it whilst the soldering iron was pushed into the hole at the top.
The driver in the lighter was a ready built one from Rkcstr on LPF, they are so well built I don't even bother testing them these days, all you need to do is set the current.
This can be done by puting a 1ohm resistor between the battery and the driver, you then connect a multimeter (set on mv) to each end of the resistor, adjust it up to around 110mv. That is a safe current for the Laser Diode and enough power to burn stuff.
I hope that helps.

Hi. Approximately how much does it cost to make one of these lighters in US$? I'm interested in making one.

You can make it for around $35 to $40 dependant on what host you use. I used a star lighter which only cost around $5 engraved.

Hi, First of I would like to say that I am very much impressed by your laser lighter design and tutorial, I was overjoyed when i found that you had posted a tutorial for this.
-for the aixiz housing or the laser, Is this the one you used? http://hightechdealz.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11
-For the heatsink, do you know where i could find a heatsink that would work with the design or where i could buy something similar to what you used?
-For the diode, This is the one i was looking at, just checking to make sure its the right one? http://stonetek.org/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65&products_id=236
-and finally, the driver, I would very much appreciate it if you could show me where i could buy the one you used because im not sure exactly which one it is.. this is the one i found http://rkcstr.nfshost.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=201
thanks, if you want to you can email me xshinytoygunsx@gmail.com

All of the above are the correct items, the heatsink was just a piece of ali plate I had around the workshop cut and drilled to shape. When you order the Rkcstr drive just ask for the one that outputs 140ma for a blu ray and you will get the right one.
Good luck with the build. Regards rog8811

Hey man! Excellent build, very cool. I'm in the middle of trying to build my own, the only thing I can't figure out is what you used for batteries. Are they 10280's?
