Can the DDL driver on this site support this diode, http://cgi.ebay.com/New-100mW-405nm-Blue-Violet-blu-ray-Laser-Diode_W0QQitemZ280459424533QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414caf3315 and have burning capabilities? thanks. also in the driver article u mentioned the need to short out the capacitor. if built exactaly as in the diagram, is there still the need to short it out?

I see no reason why not, you need to know what voltage the LD runs at to get the correct number of diodes in the test load, usually for blu-ray 4.5v = 7 diodes. Input voltage, idealy, 9v.
Once the test load is removed you do need to short the capacitor or you may kill your LD when you solder it into the circuit.
Good luck with the build.

ok i understand now, at first i thought shorting it out was a constant thing but i now relize it is only after test load. thanks a bunch.

I assume you mean for the LD, you are going to be overdriving it by about 3 times, that will mean that the LD will get hot. The Aixiz module will take some of it away but an aluminium heatsink would be a very good idea the extend the life of the LD.
