Hi, I just have a few questions about laser demonstrations as I think the involve white light lasers.

What kinds of lasers are used at laser demonstrations?

How and why do they get different colours?

How do you see the actual beams?

If you could help out that would be great!

Thanks, Josh.

Most laser shows ( I assume that is what you mean by demonstrations) use blue, red and green lasers which have fully adjustable power output ( to get 1000's of colours rather than just 7) all lasers combined with dichro's.

To see the beams you need suspended particles in the air, this can be dust or  more commonly fog from a fogging machine.
