7 colour spirograph
The white laser pointer has another trick up its sleeve, by using small motors and mirrors, it was possible to add a spirograph pattern generator in the front end.
Mirrors on cell-phone vibro motors, the smaller mirror is 16mm (5/8") diameter, larger one has the mirrored face toward the motor to save space.
The small mirror just fits within the housing and misses the beam from the Optics assembly.
The larger mirror is mounted in an aluminium ring which is a press fit in the outer sleeve, a microswitch turns the motors on and off.
This photo shows the ring trial fitted, to ensure that everything misses when it is rotated.....Just :).
The spiro is operated by a twist of the front sleeve, this brings the mirrors into line and turns on the motors.
